TREX in CRM 7.0 Segmentation

Hi,

we're working on CRM 7.0 Campaign Management and doing customer segmentation.

in the past version, it worked without installing TREX but at the 7.0 we got error prompted "No TREX system connected."

according to Master Guide CRM 7.0, we found that TREX is optional and to be used for High Volume Segmentation while in our case it is not High Volume - so our assumption we don't need TREX installed.

is there anyway i can get the segmentation running without installing the TREX?

any lead is appreciated.
